When not to sugar?
Sugaring is a gentle and effective hair removal method that’s safe for all skin types — including sensitive skin — and all hair types. It is often a safer alternative to waxing.
However, there are certain conditions where we cannot proceed with sugaring:
Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) or other active infections. Please reschedule your appointment if you are fighting any infection.
Use of acne medications such as Accutane, Retin-A, or similar products.
If you have taken Accutane (or similar oral acne medications) within the past 6 months, we recommend waiting until the 6-month mark before scheduling a sugaring appointment. For those who have been on long-term treatments, we also recommend getting clearance from your doctor to ensure your skin has fully recovered.Active skin infections, rashes, or inflammation in the treatment area. Whether infectious or not, we are unable to proceed with the service.
Open wounds or broken skin if you have only a small affected area, please notify us before we start so we can assess and avoid the area. If a bigger area of the skin is affected, we ask you to reschedule your appointment.
Sunburn
Using Retinol, Vit C serums, Enzyme exfoliants/serums(AHA,BHA such as Glycolic Acid, Lactic acid etc) Please stop using your Retinol/Vit C and exfoliants 7days prior. We can not wax you(face) if you are using any of these within a week of your appointment, as a precaution to avoid any irritation and skin lifting, and although sugaring is typically safe, we recommend planning your face sugaring and skin care accordingly.
